Kids Adventuring Blog Ongoing Coverage of Geek Dad
Chip over at kidsadventuring.org is actually doing a whole series of posts as he works through my book, tries projects out, and (seemingly) enjoys the experience. I’m flabbergasted and delighted that he’s taking so much time with it, and having such an enriching experience (and that he’s sharing it with everyone). Check out his ruminations on being a geeky dad: Kids Adventuring Blog
“Dad of Divas” Blog Reviews Geek Dad
Very nice review! Hope he does try the hydroponics – I’d really like to see a robust implementation.
My First Two Amazon Reviews
Just want to share the first two Amazon customer reviews, both wonderful. I’m really grateful, folks! Please keep ’em coming!
And special thanks to Daniel, reviewer #2, and a buddy from high school whom I don’t get to hang out with nearly enough these days. See you at Maker Faire, I hope!

Received the book yesterday and after the first read the book is great. There are great projects that I will be doing with my son as he grows up. What else is there to say? I highly recommend this book to any parent who enjoys geeky hobbies, and wants to share them with their geeklet.

Great ideas for ways to spend quality, geeky time with your kids, packaged up in a entertaining read. The projects will get the kids to tinker right along with you, and maybe even learn something while they’re having fun!
Online Customer Reviews Really Help!
I really, really appreciate all the copies that are flying off the virtual shelves at Amazon, Borders, BN (including the Nook), the iBook Store and so forth! I want to suggest to anyone who bought it online to go and put a review up on the site where they purchased up. These reviews really help the visibility of the book to other customers. Thanks so much!

AWESOME Review in Wired Magazine
This just rocks. And the illustration is wonderful, too!
The First Review: Paul at Small Town Living “…knew [he] was going to love it.”
Well, this is a great way to start! Paul David Wilson on the blog/site Small Town Living has posted the first ever review of Geek Dad, and he was tremendously positive:
I knew as soon as I saw the cover of “Geek Dad; Awesomely Geeky Projects and Activities for Dads and Kids to Share”(Ken Denmead/Gotham Books) that I was going to love it.
Right below the title were pictures of a rocket ship, a telescope, a dragon, and a twenty-sided dice (used for role playing playing games like Dungeon and Dragons!)
I am a self-professed geek, and having kids of my own, I welcome the opportunity to indoctrinate them into “Geek-dom.”
Please go and read the review and give them some traffic and feedback. I’m so happy!
